Well this game is written by the original (fo1 and fo2) developers/writers.
The game engine is the fo3 engine with some small improvements, and it has whole new story that related to fo1 and fo2 (not relating to fo3 at all).
With this in mind the time frame isn't rushed at all.

Yeah it was rushed by Betheseda, they gave Obsidian a time line and Obsidian couldn't meet it (ended up going to court over it), so in a sense it was sort of rushed :) And as said, this ties in with FO1-2 and continues from there, FO3 really had nothing to do with the Fallout Universe in general.

Either way, will be pre-ordering it soon for PS3 instead of the box this time :)

I'll be getting it for PC. I still haven't played 1 or 2, but 3 was just epic, one of my top 10 games I've ever played.

I have finished Fallout 3 and all dlc packs, so i am eagerly expecting New Vegas.

one of my friends i went to school with worked on the characters for the fallout. I heard it's suppose to super sick! He is a great modeler and my other friend handels the movements....so with knowing the two worked on it...It will be HOT!

I am definitely waiting for New Vegas to come out, already played through Fallout 3 and all 5 DLC.

Only thing that screwed me on Fallout 3, was the Nuka Colas, because they had that talent where you could convert 10 nuka colas into a Quantum Nuka-Cola, well I already had 200+ nuka colas store in my Nuka-Cola Vending Machine, and it wouldn't let me convert the Ice-Cold Nuka Colas! Bastards!

Actual pre-recorded gameplay video, not little clips but a full quest. There's a npc walking on air at one point, and the combat looks just as dull as the first.

I'll be the first to say the "we're going back to fo1/2" stuff is just pre-release hype for the alienated fans. It'll be a fun game, but it looks to be a clone of fallout 3 to me, with hopefully a slightly better main quest line.
