It's not encouraged. Posts like

Fucking hell man this is the fucking shit anyone who doesn't dig this crap is a cunt
Are going to get deleted pronto.

Also, swearing at people (ie flaming) is going to get you moderated quick-style.

However, a bit of light profanity isn't a problem; however you will find yourself looked down upon if you're not using it appropriately for emphasis.

Is JESUS Christ a swear word? My mother used to yell at me when I said that, as a kid. Then one time I said, "Is the word FUCK better"?, thinking that the lord's name is a good thing, and she called that swearing, I wasn't sure what was good or bad anymore.

mmm... You won't see that often, me quoting the ten commandments, that is...

but one of them says ""You shall not take the name of your Lord in vain"

So technically, yes, this is swearing.

  Canadians are so sick

Nope. And I can understand the first two, and my dad speaks the third, so don't try it.

I can work 'em out easily enough. I've also talked with a few French/Spanish native speakers at school, and what do you think the first question they get asked in classes is? ;)

I think he was a guy with the "gift of gab", so much that he inspired many impressionable people in those days. Today we have homemade preachers creating their own churches and religions. Just imagine back in Christ's day how easy it would be. If Christ knew then what we know now... ...I think he did.
