what is emule? and why are there tones of posts abt "server being down". how come kazaa lite server is never down. is emule a cheapo alternative? :blink:

emule has servers run by people, which handle searches etc,

kazaa doesnt have searches, it uses supernodes, which are normal users, with fats connections and fast computers. because it doesnt have central its harder to shut it down, as no-one really controls it.

There are over a hundred emule servers, so I'm not sure what you mean by the server being down....

go get a good server.met file like the one here (http://ed2k.2x4u.de/index.html)

With eMule I tend to start off with an empty server list, then Jigle (http://www.jigle.com/) for the file I want, then add that specific file's sever.met to eMule, connect to those servers, and add the file.
