Hi,

Just visited this morning to find the site is now closed with this message:

"AVCHD.co.uk is now closed.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our members.

We would like to thank all staff and members for the time that has been put into the website but it is now time to close our doors.

Thank you for understanding.

The Administration Team"

Anyone know the reason for the sudden closure. A strongly worded letter perhaps?

This site has been closed down. Seems alot have been site in the past week, as a NL version of avchd has also been closed down.
It's a shame really, but as long as we can still download HD films in MKV format we can still transform them into Avchd. Im sure people will still post them, just will have to look via news groups for them.
Web sites are becoming to risky i guess and unless the site is hosted in somewhere like catmando then it's gonna get hit.

I do feel they should of informed people about it tho, as yesterday they were still telling people to join VIP which cost £10. So how many might of done it and now the site has gone.

MoleyThey've made so much money that the risk:reward ratio isn't worth it any more?

good riddance.

password protected content should be frowned upon.

goodbye "avchd.co.uk" dont let the door hit your 'bum' on the way out.

I agree with you, as they'll have tons of films which will be still stored for over a year, yet are unacessible because the passwords were on their site.
Never understood the ego trips that some people do just to try and get people to sign up to sites etc. With stuff like rapidshare uploads i can understand but not with newsgroup stuff.

You want an invite to a site thats been closed down or am I missing something?

*NVM just visited their URL and it seems they are online which is weird because I was getting the impression from this thread that they were indeed shut down.
