I used to spend around 1000€ per year in hardware, though since the year started, I've spent 0.
Probably going for a GPU upgrade on October.

LOL, well as many of you know,I spend whatever I can. After the bills and the wife and the kids, whatever money I have left over I squirrel away for the latest greatest as I'm a complete tech whore. This last time I had a few buck to throw away on my mania, unfortunately, I lost my job and was out of work for almost 5 months so needless to say my projects were on hold ( g5 Mod, Fermi upgrade and others. ) Bills and kids always come first. I am happily back to work as of two Mondays ago so hopefully after I finish playing catch up with the bills. I'll get that new GTX 480 I wanted....both of 'em ;)

I'd say I can spend a few thousand a year on the goods if I have a good year BTW

Wish i had the cash to do that, I would be a tech whore myself.
I guess when i'm in a well paid job I'll too get a new PC, something like a 7i i7 or whatever its called, and maybe a ssd.
One day i'll become a geek.

The only downside to being a computer geek I have found is when the inlaws have a computer problem and ask you to fix it. When you get there it's a 10 year old dell with 512mb ram and they want to run photoshop.

g5 Mod

This one?
(http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=920177) The case does look sexy, possible why Apple products appear to the design sector of the workforce (Audio producers, Gfx designers etc). Good to hear you got your job back :)

As for me, I spend about 1000$AUD/year on hardware and project supplies. I probably don't have a big budget as the rest of you Euro's as I have other financial commitments.

1000 Australian dollars = 692.718561 Euros :ermm:
