View Full Version : My CD-ROM cant read any cd please help..!!

Hi guys here i am again asking for your advice
btw.. yesterday i format my laptop and it can read my cd's & DVD's & install all of my drivers but after i restart my laptop i insert one my cd games & my windows started to lag & lag & lag then after 15 mins the cd doesn't respond... i insert another cd but still the same.. i tried to format my laptop again but when i boot, it cant read the cd also.. i configure the boot menu & its fine & well configure for automatic boot for OS.. :dabs: i also tried to format my laptop with my USB w/ a OS copy inside from my cd & of course i set the boot menu in removable disk but the system cant detect it:wacko:.. it says no bootable device found.. Y? i already comfigure it.. Damn:pinch:

HELP what should i do?:( PLEASE i am try everything i know:frusty:

What about cleaning the CD drive? From what you mention it's unlikely that its lens got dirty, but...

And you really shouldn't do it. Same goes for blowing air from your mouth on the lens.

beside what sounds like a faulty cd
have you tried these cd's on other drives just to be sure?
and do you have a cd-usb drive you , can at least install an os with it

Ahhm.. my cd's are ok & absolutely working in other drives... btw what is this cd-usb drive? is this different from other usb? i wanna try to reformat it again...:huh:


Yes, although you should probably let a technician do that.oh my.. it will cost a hundred... i wanna reformat my laptop again.. can u tell me how w/out using any OS in cd?

If your laptop's BIOS supports booting from a flashdrive, have a look at this:

Sometimes, cleaning the CD helps...

or cleaning the ports ala cables etc might help as well

i had the same problem...if you are running windows, do the service pack update. get the latest
