I no longer see any benefit to having a CRT. LCD's have gotten quite exceptional, and are far more likely to survive a bumpy shipping trip. It could save you a lot in shipping costs, too.

I have some SRAM here, do you want that too? I'll ship it to you on a paddle steamer.

You people can piss off. Crt is still superior as a gaming screen. lsd is getting good but have nothing on crt.

If your not a troll, look at your local trash dumps... you will be bound to find one..

In all seriousness.... Just buy an lcd monitor.. Their so much easier on the eyes, give off a clearer picture... Conserve less energy (the newer ones)... are not 500 pounds...
And their pretty cheap now a days for a average everyday lcd.

Looking for a nice lcd.... (I own the older model, and damn does it put off a nice picture... great for gaming also 2 ms response time)

I did not know they still make CRTs. I guess because all big Tech companies shifted to the new techs And it is them whom do Advertisements.

CRT's are getting scarce as new purchases. Your best bet is to find a mom and pop store in your area that sells used equipment, and get one there. At least you'll have a place to easily take it back to if it only lasts a month. The problem with buying online is you'll find mostly refurbished devices and the shipping is horrid cause the units weigh so much, so shipping it back if your not satified will cost you.

I think you can import it or ask anyone coming from China... best place to buy strange item/things

If you'tre looking for image quality, treat yourself and buy a LED monitor, they're friggin awesome!

Edit:
Colours tend to be better on CRT monitors than on LCD screens. set one up beside another, and get a picture of a chessboard (black and white) and compare them, you'll see the difference.

Seriously though, LED screens are shit sharp, colours are spectacular, and what you pay in shipping a CRT monitor, you'll end up spending the same on a LED

The only place I've seen CRTs readily available is inside the public school system.

Maybe when they do upgrades you can buy them there... :/

CRT's are superior to LCD's. LCD's wished they had the black levels CRT's have. Had a Viewsonic 19" CRT a long time ago and it had an outstanding picture. The reason CRT's are a dieing breed is exactly what clocker said, "Size, heat and power consumption". The only thing that even comes close to the black levels CRT's have are the Pioneer Kuro Plasma TV's and those you are going to pay a pretty penny for.

CRT? Where is my record player?

If you must, have you checked your local city's Craigslist? I have seen them for $4.

I'll assume he found one. There's no need to continue bumping this.

Size...heat and power consumption.

All useless criteria for a better viewing experience. What works for you in a gay bar doesn't necessary work all over.

Just because its newer people keep assuming its better.

Size... power consumption, heat

in the other hand crt is

Cheaper... better viewing experience... and why the fuck do you care about the heat of the screen?
