just normally bluray rips come up onto certain sites couple of weeks before release, usually a good indication the movie is only a few weeks away and seeing how the alien set is up and it comes out the same week as back to the future, that is what brought me to the question of if it was delayed or not

How do old movies come out in 720/1080? I thought you needed to record/use hidef source to release it in HD? Or is it just upscaling from the regular DVD9's to 720p? How does that make a difference? Can some shed light on this.

Old movies can come out beautifully. Even silents can look fantastic. You have to remember, film can produce a higher resolution than hd. It just comes down too the condition of the master, whether original or a couple generations newer. Take Adventures of Robin Hood, a 72 year old film. Looks almost like it was made yesterday.

Ps. it also depends of what kind of film the movie was filmed on. Those shot on technicolor retains vivid colors while those shot with eastman film tends to be faded and washed out
