I'd have to agree with Cabalo, Why would you even want to play around with it? There are so many better choices out there

Of course it works, Gnutella is a decentralized network.

I wouldn't recommend it at all, though - use Ares if you liked Limewire. It's more or less the same, just with less crap.

yep, limewire is asshole of the filesharing. A friend got kiddie porn from them, by searching for "Nirvana- Smells Like Teen Spirit"

what is the use of using the pirate edition...
If I were you I would just stay away from any limewire edition.
