View Full Version : Trusted serial/crack sites

Are there any with no injectors, loggers, cache stealer ... malicious sites?

Mainly give up with the windows appz, the a/v usually locks the keygen in a vault even when you try and "ignore" the threat .

There are a few I used to use and the serials usually worked but the sites looked very suspicious so I accessed them either through a Linux box or a sandpit ... can't remember the sites for the life of me now.

there was a clean site with "guru" in their name, but I can't recall

FSF made an article about this a while ago, but chances are some of those sites are still alive.

Personally, I use Warez-BB to get the apps I want, plus their respective cracks/serials.

I think this all falls under

Rule 10 - Cracks/Keygens/Warez

Posting of direct download links to copyrighted material such as private ftp sites, serial numbers, warez sites and torrentlinks are prohibited. Posts directly or indirectly containing this information will be edited. Sig2dat quicklinks and hashes are NOT considered to be downloadable and will be allowed. Don't ask for torrents, cracks, serials or keygens to be posted, you are asking someone else to break this rule. Hacking/Cracking discussions are not allowed.

Hmm, no one is asking to post serials, and there are no direct download links to any of that material. That's how I interpreted the rule. Seems ok to discuss this.

Do people still visit sites with serials ? The only site i trust is warez-bb and luelinks . I always read the comments so see if something can harm my system . Some even have reports with antivirus making it safe for you to download it .

warez-bb is the best solution in my opinion tho i cant say for sure all cracks/keygens are virus free, i myself found viruses in some cracks downloaded from there so i always use virus total to verify before executing any

Use Sandboxie to test stuff you don't trust. If it does "nothing" but keeps on running, just kill all the programs inside the sandbox and wipe it.

Personally, I've only had only one such experience with software from Warez-BB, an installer with a trojan bound to it.

Since a staff membered okayed this discussion, I must say I have been using gamecopyworld (just google it) for years to get my game cracks and it has never let me down. Best place on the internet for fixed .exe's and game trainers.

I've used GCW in the past, also, mostly for trainers. A tip for people reading this, you must enable HTTP referers to be able to download.

Haha I remember my days of using that site. It used to sketch me the hell out though, back in the day the design practically screamed "virus". No clue if it's changed much over the years.

Design isn't generally that important. I still get some cracks from them and I haven't gotten a virus.

Lol, why an earth would anybody mess with their HTTP headers (unless accessing update.microsoft.com - and then there's the IE tab extension)?

Nowadays, disabling referers is a well-known and easy to do task, so many people toggle them off due to privacy concerns.

Does anybody remembers "craagle"? is it still around?

Not wanting every site I visit to know where I just been, is a good reason.

RefControl for Firefox, forge all third party requests for headers, whitelist sites if they doesn't work for some reason. Done.

You guys do know that the 'referer' HTTP header gets only sent when you click a link in a site, rite?. For example, when you first read TF, then move to FST to troll for a while by entering the URL to the address bar and finally select your favourite porn site via your bookmarks, FST or the porn site will not know where you came from.

The referer however does get sent every time when you click on the "forum" tab from FST front page, then select "File sharing" and finally this topic.

It's in the standards: RFC 2616 (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2616).

That's out of the question. :) The issue is, if site A links to site B directly, and you have referers enabled, B will know you came to it via A. I don't want that to happen (and apparently, neither does Expeto), so I've toggled them off.

GameCopyWorld requires that you have them on to deter file hotlinking, however, and since it's so easy to disable referers on modern browsers nowadays (it takes just two mouse clicks in Opera, a addon to Firefox, etc.), I made that comment yesterday. That's all.

Thanks, Captain Obvious. I posted that message because Expeto was being a drama lama "Not wanting every site I visit to know where I just been, is a good reason." about that HTTP standard feature.

Thanks, Captain Obvious.

Glad I could help.

How does it being an "HTTP standard feature" make it less of a concern?

heiska

The fact that it is a standard feature - a part of how teh internet works. AKA not a subject of concern. If you don't agree, gtfo ma internetz.

obtw:

serials.ws

Edit: ic your point. I would be worried too if I was a ratio cheater ;).

These days, I just get the application with its respective crack from Warez-BB. For serials, the above mentioned Serials.ws does the trick.

Wasn't that site full of shit, or more exactly, trojans?

Also, look at their news panel, hasn't been updated since November 2004... :ermm:

That's also been the case with F.O.S.I. - one of the oldest warez sites still standing.

But that'd be like saying never visit t'internet, from experience it's viruses and porn!

Thumbs-up from me to GCW too btw, been using for years, NEVER had a single problem with virus/trojans from it, trust it more than any other 'no-cd' site. Apart from that, I'm taking note of what's getting posted here for strong alternative - been a looooooong time since anything on astalavista proved to be clean (serials.ws etc).

You can always download a copy of it and scan it at home.
