I didn't. I liked the first Portal, but sadly I still have the same hardware as when it was released. :(

Apparently, the more indie bundle games people buy, the sooner the game will be officially available:

Ditto. Except Call of Duty.

I played the first Portal only when it became available on Steam for free and it was....ok. Not a chance I'm paying $50 for part 2.

The only free Portal 1 is what appears to be the demo, The First Slice (http://store.steampowered.com/app/400/).

Is this in fact a 'full' game?

Finished in just 72hours :)
the game was released with Bugs in it like random crashes (basicaly on nVidia Cards+intel i5 Cpu combinations)

they released a patch after 4days, by that time i have already finished the game :D

About the price, i never buy any games on steam so as this. where steam store asking approx 50 USD, i bought in local retail store which is approx 13USD when converted with todays exchange rate.

i only buy game on steam when they gave huge discount, like killing floor & L4D2 was on sale for less then 5 USD.

EDIT:- about the game, Nothing new except the new graphics. game play remains the same.
it will force you to think after chapter-3, and as you progress you wil be more glued to the game & the level of dopamine will increase :D

Steam's discounts are just ridiculous, for instance the other day GTA IV was 75% off!

Steam, as a _service_ is great, but their customer support is sorely lacking.

I bought Devil May Cry 4 during the holiday sale, and they doubled the price WHILE I had it in my shopping cart. That is, I put it in my cart at $5, and when I checked out they charged me $10. Claimed that $10 was the only price it ever was. Claimed $5 never happened. Except, lots of other people also saw the $5 price. There were discussions in Steam's _own forums_ about the price change.

Their response was that I should just suck it up. They never admitted to doubling the price. And, there's not really anything that can be done about it. They basically stole money from me.

So, there's that, haha.

I finished in a day however many hours that took I have no idea.
As for thinking ,I don't consider looking high and low for increasingly obscure surfaces to attach to your beam to be thinking.

Humour was good up to a point though .The point being as you said it basically copied the original.

I never really played Portal 1, but I gave this one a try. Stephen Merchant and J.K. Simmons doing the voice acting was great. The spiteful female robot voice commentary was also great. The puzzle solving... fun and interesting at first, then kinda bored me after awhile, on top of that game was crashing. 2 hours or so in I was going to just stop playing altogether... but I still wanted to hear the story and acting. So I just turned on the console and noclipped my way through to the end. I might have missed some of the story but if I paid $50 for this I would have been piiiiiissed.

I think the game was awesome, apart from some bugs (like crashing) it had a great story line.

I beat Portal, and Portal 2. The second one was SO much better. To anyone saying that the original was better. Go back and play it. It is not as awesome as I remember it being the first time. Graphics have been polished, the voice actors were great, the game was difficult, but not too difficult. I didn't get stumped, but it wasn't so easy that I rolled through it in a day.
