Disable the built-in firewall if it has one, and forward your ports (http://www.portforward.com/)!

thanks yes it does have a built-in firewall wont disabling the built-in firewall put my computer and connection at risk useing the router

Security
Wi-Fi Protected Access™ (WPA/WPA2–PSK) and WEP
Double firewall protection (SPI and NAT firewall)
Denial-of-service (DoS) attack prevention

Maybe. But using a router and only forwarding the ports you need is already a pretty good "firewall". Note I'm only telling you to do that to be able to narrow the cause of the problem down.

What does "blocking" mean here? eMule can't connect? It won't download? It says you have a low ID?

sorry i mean low ID on ed2k network and kad network is firewalled do you know if this program is any good and safe to use https://secure.portforward.com/store/pfconfig.cgi

Low ID means you haven't forwarded your ports. I have never tried PortForward's program myself, but I've been told that it's effective and easy to use (although not free). You can always refer to your router's manual, that's the best way.

You'll need an additional WAN IP from your provider for that to work. Where I come from those aren't free, and have an extra fee.

Also, if your connection speed is above 10Mbit, you'll be limited to that.

You should phone your ISP to know. Where I come from an extra WAN IP costs 2 USD.

Hello everyone.

For fuck's sake, stop doing that. If you want to spam 5 posts to get access to the invite section you can do it in the Word Games section or something. :dabs:

If you suspect someone else is using your connection, you should check the DHCP table in your router's interface (refer to the manual to know where this function can be accessed). If you're the only one, it should look somewhat like this:

Computer name - IP address - MAC address - Lease time
mike160 - 192.168.1.100 - 00-09-8D-E2-57-29 - Forever

If someone's "stealing" your Wi-Fi, you'll see one or more additional entries:

Computer name - IP address - MAC address - Lease time
mike160 - 192.168.1.100 - 00-09-8D-E2-57-29 - Forever
stealingurnet - 192.168.1.101 - 00-06-A4-54-CD-6A - Forever

The best solution remains using WPA encryption and a strong password, I'd say.

Then visit the manufacturer's site and download it as a PDF. There are thousands of router models in existence, and the procedure will differ for most of them.
