Right now i am playing shogun 2. It is a very good game once you get into it. remember to use your ninja's, monks, and metsuka ( not sure how it is spelled. ) Even if they do not kill, convert or bribe they will gain experience.

I also play bad company 2 and call of duty Black Ops. i haven't really played these since i started playing shogun though. I also just finished playing assassins creed. I really recommend this game especially if you played the first one. They left it kind of open so I think there will be another one.

I am also looking for other decent games to play.

is Rainbow Six Vegas 2 any good? I played rogue spear and a few of the sequels after that but grew out of it cause they got worse instead of better. i think i even tried the first r6 vegas and it sucked. From the trailers it doesn't look like it changed much.

Anyone try Operation flash point red river. I wasn't really thrilled with the prior version.I just finished the single player and I wasn't really impressed. OF cold war had a lot better single player experience as opposed to red river which has only a couple of missions. Cold war was also better (for me) because you didn't get thrown in the fire team management right away but were introduced to the whole concept first and then asked to step up. Red river also has only one drivable vehicle. I loved it in OF1 when I could jump into enemy vehicle and drive away :P


Anyway, I play FM 2011, Cities XL, a couple of manager games online ... and my last game (installed just yesterday :P ) is Alien Dominion - the Acronian Encounter ... a "turret shooter" ... I needed some mindless shooting, what can I say :wacko:

I just started driver san fran. I never play much of the driver series since it was never on pc that i know of. It's a pretty decent game but very much like the GTA series with out the getting out of the car and walking around, instead your in a coma and can float to the next car. Decent story, good graphic's, but like all games they need more tits and ass. ;)

I was accepted into The Old Republic's beta, so I've been testing that over the past week. The voice work and cut scenes are impressive, but dialogue responses are limited to three choices and generally have few consequences. The overarching story is suitably epic, as expected of Bioware, but it's broken up into bite-sized chunks through standard, boring quests that entail an inordinate amount of wasted time running from point A to point B and back. Combat is visceral for an MMORPG, with kinetic blows and fluid motions improving upon the stale formula of TOR's predecessors, so when you are immersed in the action instead of traveling, the game is quite enjoyable. I haven't progressed far enough to comment on the upper level content.

I'm playing Rage on the PC. At first glance it reminded me of Borderlands. I thought to myself, "I loved Borderlands!" So, now I'm playing Rage. It has better grafx than Borderlands (imo), but Borderlands has the far superior game play. The whole Rage game is on rails and there's almost nothing you can do about it. Extremely limited exploration and while Borderlands is a little sandboxy, Rage is even more so. Lastly, Borderlands took me 36 hours to beat it (both times). That's completing ALL quests up to the end of the (not counting DLC) game. Rage is said to be around 8-16 hours. We'll see...

Wouldn't that be out of context then, since he's talking about playing a game and not coding one? Sandbox, as it refers to games, is synonymous with open format gaming (as you've already described), and typically only used that way in context. I can see how one would use it to describe as restrictive/having finite boundaries, but we're just talking about conventions here (as a function to avoid confusion).

I'm playing through Fallout 3 right now. I have no idea why it took me so long to get into this game, it's been sitting on my shelf for God knows how long. The game was a little boring at the start(similar to watching paint dry, or reading through most posts here at FST) but it's picking up now and I'm pretty hooked.

Unfortunately though it's going to have sit on the back burner for a while since the new Zelda has been leaked and I will be starting that as soon as the download has finished.

Actually I got side tracked by Skyward Sword and have been playing it exclusively. The game is fantastic. But after I'm done I'm going to get back to Fallout 3(well alternate between that and the translated version of Fatal Frame 4), and once I'm finished with that start New Vegas. I bought that and Fallout 3 at the sametime. It's funny though, on many boards the consensus seems to be that Fallout 3 is the more liked game, but that New Vegas is more difficult. I'll pass my judgement when I'm finished with both.


ANyone try Skyward Sword yet?

I'm about 45 hours into it. I'm guessing I have at least 15 hours left(I'm hoping more as TP took me 75 hours to finish, so it would be nice if the next game in the series is even longer). I just obtained the second Sacred Flame. After I'm finished I'll play a couple other games then return to SS for Hero Mode. There I'll try and 100% the game.

If you're asking for a recommendation though, I highly suggest you start the game. The controls are a little wonky at first, but stick with it and you'll eventually get good at them/get used to them. That Motion+ plus attachment really makes a difference in a game like this. And actually it's the most difficult 3D Zelda to date. That's not saying it's an overly hard game just the most difficult in the 3D Zelda series.

Decided to fire up Hard Reset. I just beat stage 2 out of 7 stages and the game "looks" great. I've already died a handful of times simply by being trapped in the environment (not bugged) cuz the game just doesn't have any cover. It's basically a run 'n gun type game which is fine, but to make the game harder they toss you in areas that you have limited movement surrounded on all flanks. meh, fun nonetheless and worth my $5.

Started up Half-Life 1 for the first time (nope never played it) and not the Source version. There wasn't any reason to NOT start the Source version, but I just thought I'd play the original. I have both the original and the updated Source version btw. From what I understand the differences are that the Source version has better lighting, ragdoll and prob higher res. I'd much rather play the Black Mesa mod (http://blackmesasource.com), but that's been in development for 5+ years now and it's still not released... not gonna hold my breath.

Just finished up Arkham City. Fantastic game but I wasn't really impressed with the ending. I thought the game was going to continue on after the final fight. I was a little disappointed. Besides that though, it was great. I wish more devs would come up with games with comic book characters as good as these two Batmans are.

I can never finish a Half-Life game.... ever! Formatted my PC and it took Half-Lifes save with it. It's not like I forgot. I'm glad it took it. HL games are just boring to me.

So, now I'm playing Dungeon Siege II and Killing Floor for PC. I think somewhere I previously stated that DSII was horrible or I just didn't like it.. meh. I'm having a good time with it, but it seems the difficulty is extremely spiky sometimes.

I also downloaded and have installed Lord of the Rings Online. It's F2P and it's a free download. Does not ask for any credit card info either.

Just started playing Arkham City.
I'm amazed a game like this even exists.

So good, isn't it? Too bad I'm not connected to Live though so I couldn't get the Catwoman character. I'll have to take my HDD to my nephews soon so I can download her. It's so shitty that it was done this way though. I'm looking forward to many more great Batman games in the future though.

Anyways, I just started The Last Story, and it is SO fucking good. Now I see why there was such an uproar throughout the gaming community to bring this(and Xenoblade) to the West. I'm only on the second chapter but I'm having a grand ol' time so far. I'm definitely buying this one when a US release hits to show support.

Like Mr.nails said, I didn't really encounter much in bugs. But then again I only spent a few hours with the game. But those three hours were brutal to just get through. I was expecting more.

And The Last Tower is just getting better and better. I haven't really been a big fan of modern 3D rpg's(love the 2D ones) so I was almost going to pass on this one. So glad I didn't. I should probably start Xenoblade when I'm done since people rave about it. I've actually read quite a few opinions that The Last Story isn't as good as Xenoblade, so I'm pretty interested now.

It does require a bit of thinking and patience(not as bad a Professor Layton), it's not some fast paced mindless run n' gun type of game. But it's definitely one of the best games I've played in a long time. You should really give it another chance. I mean it's gotta be more interesting than those cycling mags that you read, am i right?
