I used to think that those generic UNIVERSAL inks would work on any printer.

Buble-jet printers "boil" the ink until a gas bubble blows the ink onto the paper.
Ink-jet cratridges use peseo crystals to push the ink out.

I used a hp printer some months ago - but the ink costs for it (540 deskjet)
49Euro or something like this or 25 Euro, but it was VERY expensive...

So I bought a Canon deskjet and now the ink does not cost so much
12Euro color and 7Euro black... It is very cheap... and also the printer can do more
and print faster, but the hp was also a bit older...

I also tried refillable ink from "pelikan" on hp and filled up with
my own ink and it worked for a long time!!!! only after not printing
a certain time the opening at the cartridge dry out :( but it worked...

Ánd to prevent drying out you should use some special alcohol as I read
and mix it with the ink :)

I think if you use ink designed for an ink-jet in a bubble-jet printer, the ink will eventaully dry up in the boiling stage and "clot" the sparyer ports with a dried ink crust.

Not a lot of people realise that most printer manufactorers dont issue garantees if you use the wrong ink or cartridge and even correct paper for the printer - HP is one of &#39;em <_<

Up to &#036;2,000 a liter. Some printing facilities use a high grade printer (with permant ink, non-water base) to print. They by-pass making plates. Supposed to be cost effective for small print jobs.

How many milligrams in a liter?
Becuase I think a re-fill kit with 4 bottles (at 25mg per bottle) can cost anywhere from &#036;16.00 to &#036;22.00). So that is 100mg of ink per kit. What does that equal in a liter? I can&#39;t figure that out, I am too busy and too stupid at math right now. One of you brainiacs can do that.

:P That depends on the density of the substance in question.However.... there are 1000 mililiters in a liter. ;)
