I'd like to be a member of HDbits because while my bandwidth and so my subsequent interest in downloading high definition is severely limited I understand there is a large percentage of full of themselves, judgmental cunts there so I can relate.

Why do people ask for the impossible? I mean let's face it - it's literally impossible until at least next Xmas and only then if HDbits staff forget their last experience with opening up invites over christmas. HDbits has to be the single most impossible tracker to join. E has applications and so does FS*, FTN gives out invites to some donaters, ftwr had applications and some manual invites during very special occasions, and there are some extremely secretive trackers that have applications and give out some invites during donation drives. HDbits makes them all look easy to join in comparison. There are no applications at HDbits, invites are never enabled unless you count the few hours last christmas and that's probably not happening ever again, and the list of people who can actually use their invites at HDbits is extremely short and most of them will never set foot around fst (or any other similar forum).

Sorry to be a killjoy but unless you are a pretty respected encoder and/or you have some serious connections this will just be like the dozens of other HDbits request threads I see on a daily basis, doomed to go on and on until you give up hope or get bored of bumping. I'm not actually saying all this to be mean, I'm trying to help you. Your setting yourself up for major disappointment and depending on how much time you invest bumping this thread & how seriously you take torrenting a major letdown once you realize the request will not work. There are lots of great HD trackers that you could join, why not try for them instead.

The 18 or over warning you are getting is because clicking on the link will also give you a popup transfer to a sexchat/webcam bullshite site of some sort.
As for requesting certain sites the whole idea of exclusive trackers is patently silly.It's entertainment for God's sake not canonization.I mean I can't even broach the subject that I would like to check out certain trackers with friends because I'm not "seriously into the subject matter enough".:mellow:Serious exactly how, that I only know about and like the stuff but I don't spend an exorbitant about of time on the internet proving that fact to certain people?

Imagebam lets you choose whether your images are "family friendly" or adult content when you upload them. If you choose the latter, people will see a warning about the image being porn when they try to view it.

I can kind of see why mjmacky may have done this, but "I am over 18 years old" is the biggest lie on the Internet. :P

I seriously doubt that. All the quality releases gets leaked on other torrent sites and it's naive to think that this big red text "This is HDBits internal release, please don't upload it elsewhere" will work since it's in human nature to break the rules.
Most of these realeses could be found on other HD trackers or even on rutracker (haven't checked it though, so I might be wrong).

Wait for next christmas or something as it seems the only time in year when average users are allowed to send out invites.

I hate the term and concept of "family friendly". Nudity isn't exclusively adult, in fact sex and nudity is probably more youth than adult.

What you said was utter bullshit. You don't need any serious connections if you wanna join hdbits. You already know how I became a member of hdbits in 2010. Someone invited me, and I got banned. He invited me again the same day, and I got banned again, and he was demoted to the UHD user class. Then, for some mysterious reason, they decided to re-enable me (well, later they explained it by saying they had taken pity on me) and two weeks ago, they banned me again because I had joined irc. Yet you talk about it as if it's some kind of Ivy League university. It's not. I am sure the OP has a pretty big chance of getting invited to hdbits if he contacts admins or VIPs using irc. I can tell him the usernames of some admins and VIPs that I know. He can contact them on irc and ask them for an hdbits invite. You are wrong if you think that it's harder to join hdbits than any other tracker.

I managed to get in during the closure, but it took several months of searching, a good deal of luck, and status on another site that most users won't have. If I was just a run of the mill torrent user and there was no connection whatsoever between me and one of their VIPs, it would have been impossible.

There was also an offer here a while back to put people in contact with a certain VIP there that was inviting people that could prove that they could either encode/cap or had a balance of ($300 I think?) on their iTunes account that they were willing to spend on new WEB-DL content for the site. I'm not sure if that offer still stands.

Also, you should've figured out by now that OlegL is just trolling, but regardless I agree with your assessment. It's much easier to join one of those "rare" sites where common members can submit applications or even receive invites.

I would think the reason you gave is reason enough for his demotion. He invited you, you got banned, then invited you again the same day. That's someone who already knew you. And for some odd reason, despite him knowing you and how much you enjoy pushing the buttons of the staff team there, he still felt like reinviting you. The situation is infinitely different for someone on the outside with no "friends" there that have invites.
