I've been going over and over the tutorials included in 3ds max and got pretty decent at modeling and understanding the interface and terms. I just wanted to know what the best plugins or other apps help enhance your 3D projects. Any body have some "must have" plugins or apps that help out.

Thanks

if you have never used a modeling program before i suggest
wings3d (http://www.wings3d.com/download2.php)
its free and easy to use and a good way to start learning so you are not so lost when you move up to bigger appz like 3ds max or lightwave, maya ect.

here is an example (http://spctre.free-host.com/patrol2.jpg)

i used wings to make the models (i aint got it down to an exact art yet but working on it) and used 3ds max to import my models and render the scene

The company that makes 3dmax has a Character maker. I heard that's what they use for alot of current pc games. (Maya is used on movies like Shrek, little nemo.. but u cant get it pirated and it costs like $1,500++)
