Hi, i'm look for information on how many users that are having premium account on the File sharing websites ( like rapidshare , megaupload etc.)
does any of you know maybe where I can find this kind of information?

And of this group of users - how many use which File sharing website ?

If any of you have those stats It would be very useful for me.

Thanks.

I'm not sure that sort of stats are public. You could try e-mailing the hosters, however.

I actually tried that, they are not willing to share this information.

This is going to be highly confidential information.

You can get a rough estimate of how popular the various filesharing sites are at Alexa. For example here is the data for fileserve.
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/fileserve.com
Note how it has lost some popularity since the beginning of the year.
or Filesonic:
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/filesonic.com
It seemed to have peaked three months ago and is now about flat.
Or rapidshare; a major continuing decline:
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/rapidshare.com
Note how wupload's usage is exploding:
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/wupload.com

For information from the file uploader's point of view (who get paid for uploading as more people download their uploads) look at the Digitalpoint forums:
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=22
(see the 23, 289+ replies on the Filesonic thread?)

I thought of Alexa, but as far as I know it won't provide the specific information he's looking for. At most, you can deduce that if X has more traffic than Y, they'll also have more Premium users.

The DigitalPoint forums I didn't know about, thanks for the link. Looks like there's a lot of money-making related stuff there...

Thanks a lot for the Information.

Very useful.

I guess no way to know the numbers of the premium users though
