But I am not sure

I can help you with sdbits
My account at x264me disable due to inactivity otherwise I will invite you there.

TL also has a large no of those.

No I'm not joking, as said go to Waffles the power user section In the forums.
there's a thread there, just find SDbits and follow the steps.

thank you ElitUser but now I'm just bumming out. they're all .mkv but there's no size payoff (the movies are 1.4gb and tv shows ~400mb)
(I may have to start a mini community to share small files? [edit] no, no scene stuff at all, and it's strictly dvdrip 5.1 audio too - what am I even doing here?? [edit])

Can someone still please invite me to x264.me?

i do not think you'll like x264 either... no small files there.....

hmm, will they 'allow' them?

hmm, will they 'allow' them?

Probably not, the focus for most x264-only sites is for the encodes to be transparent. Honestly the sizes you described would still probably look nice, but they will definitely not be transparent from source. If you starve the bitrate too much, such as with sources that require more, it'll start looking just as blocky as a starved XVID. Think about Hulu or Netflix streaming when the connection is 1 or 2 bars (if you've ever had the experience).

The only scene notice proposing a switch to the x264 encoder for SD resolution that I'm aware of details size restrictions similar to the current XVID (139 MB up to 16 min, 189 MB up to 26 minute, etc.). However, HD x264 scene rules seem to be adopting constant quality encoding, which means the sizes will vary, maybe the same will be proposed for scene in the future.

So basically, I'm saying you'll probably just have to wait until the scene decides to let go of inferior codecs.

oh well it was worth looking into I guess, even torrentday doesn't have many small .mkvs so unless I'm making them there's no hope except for me to get them through this other site minishares.org

thanks for your input regarding x264me and what they offer everybody, I'll close up this thread now I guess
