I have tried to sign up to warez site happyhippo (http://www.happyhippo.net)
but have nio had any luck.

I was just wondering if anyone is with the site or has had luck signing up with
them. Is it legit - because there are some rare files I need from the site

I stopped reading there. This is most likely a scam site offering freely available links from other sites.

I'd advice looking for those rare files on Warez-BB, where you don't need to pay anything.

TP(tehparadox) is also a good place....Its my second choice after warez-bb....

All torrents for both shows seem to be dead. I found The 1900 House as a season pack, but there are no seeders. Checked Warez-BB, RuTracker, and Demonoid - nothing, nothing, and the site is down, respectively :(

I have been a member of the box.bz for 4 years now and am aware
they have 'alternative' (non-scene) types of these same shows I am looking for.

The version of 1900 house they have on their is a DVDRip (ie non original UK version)
the TV caps they also have are Divx and poor quality as opposed to the ftp releases I seek.

The versions of How Tv Changed Britain are also very poor I identified after download.

This is why I seek the exact scene releases and not 'alternative' caps.

Shamefully yes! I had to test it out to see if it was genuine. As I literally scoured the whole net looking for a forum or board with discussions on the sites genuineness. There was a brief discussion here (...on FST) but nothing confirming or denying whether the site (Happyhippo) worked. PLus I know another fella from a torrent site I used to be on that gave me a file directly from the site!!!!

The copyright on the site (Happyhippo) says 1998-2008, so perhaps the site was actively maintained and genuine before a certain time (ie 2008) and now they are just stagnant - basically a con site waiting to happen.

I paid for a trail. Very cheaply I may add £3 in UK pounds conversion and waited for 2 and half days - no luck - upon which I quickly canceled the subscription to the filthy porn site (I did not want those bastards to try and take $30 from my card and get me into a contract obligation).

Thats why I have made this thread here @ FST and have done so on a couple of other sites (and to my other 'rls sources') to find out if anyone has successfully registered and used the site etc
