I did download from there before they went down, didn't post much forums there wasn't much to post about.
Well there wasn't much action there before they went down...It begs the question will a new design or modified make a difference?

If they open signups, then maybe. The old site didn't and only had an invite system which wasn't very successful as far as I remember. :eyebrows:

Before it was filelist.org ,long time ago it was a very good tracker , with activity in community and torrent ....

It was my oldest tracker ... with demonoid.. sign up in January 2005...:shifty:

It indeed was a very good tracker a long time ago and over time it simple died out..One more thing was the closed invite system which may have led to their reduced activity and eventual downfall.Till recently they had around 1k torrents and hardly any activity on them, which makes me believe that bringing the site back wont make any big difference.

It Is the practice to back up the database on trackers, or am I wrong about that.
If I remember right that's what the staff of FilePost said the last time, when the tracker was down for some months?
I find It highly unlikely that they didn't make a back up the database.

FilePost went down ~6 months ago because the previous admin disappeared. This resulted in the server bills not being paid. Unfortunately the admin was the only one that had backups and the ability to retrieve the server. The old userbase is lost. We can't reach the admin. He might be dead or giving us the silent treatment.

We do however have an upgraded source and we're currently in beta testing.

If you were a previous member, we are sorry for your loss. We tried really hard to get in touch with the admin, with no success. He does not want to be found.

The best way to get back in would be through an invite (after beta is over), as we can't just open the doors to everyone who might claim they were a member earlier(how would we know your claim is real?).

Hopefully you will be able to find your way back home.

2011-08-27 FilePost is back, beta testing has started. Invites are only given to selected users at this time.

Can't login with old user name/pass, can't register new ones, and they aren't handing out logins. So, just how it is they are going to bother giving out logins to what were otherwise loyal uses? I was a member for years, but never thought, "gee, I should keep screenshots of my logins and stats so I can prove to them later that I really was a member, but now have no proof."

You're not the only one. I was a member i think more than 4 years. This was the best tracker i had and the oldest i used. I'm on piratebay right now but i prefer filepost.

By the way, it says nothing of this in the rules when you sign up for an account on these forums (I read them before I decided to ask for an invite on another thread). The only place you see this is on the stickied threads, but if you come here from a search engine, you don't see them...

Perhaps something to look into if you're an admin of this site.

As far as I remember, when you register here (or almost any other Internet forum), you must state to read and agree with the rules, one of which is number 12.
