I recently bought playon HD mini 2 for all my HD needs but kinda new to encoding I see movies labelled at bitrate with 1080p must be with 8mbps my questions are

Does 720p looks good enough on 1080p?
which encoders movies are .best flawless others?
what should I look for a in a release to identify whether its good or not screens don't help much i.e
ViDEO BiTRATE...: x264 @ 10951 Kbps
FRAME RATE......: 23.976 fps
AUDiO 1.........: ENG DTS-CORE 5.1CH @ 1536 Kbps
RUNTiME 1.......: 01:54:51 (h:m:s)
ASPECT RATiO....: 2.353: 1

You could download the samples and try those, rather than the screens.

Anyway I think most will look good no matter what you get, generally the higher the size the better the quality, assuming same size and codec used (example 720p and x264).

I only download 720p, although I mostly stick to the scene stuff, also, I keep My eye on ViSiON 720p x264 encodes.

I mostly use encodes form chd - these are the best tin my opinion reliable and great looking if ur watching on computer I dont think it would make difference - only on hdtv it would be up-scaled to 1080p u might notice tearing
