my dvd player won't play mpeg1, only the mpeg2 files. I was wondering can I use EO Video and TMPEGenc to convert to mpeg2 and burn using Nero? And what format do I put the mpeg2 in, VCD or SVCD, or it doesn't matter?

mpeg2 is svcd so its wierd that yours plays svcd and not vcd
check this site and see what others got to work on it

and just use tmpegenc to convert it to vcd(mpeg1) or svcd (mpeg2)

both dvd and svcd are mpeg2
what's the difference between them? Different resoultions, bitrates, ect... also I think the matrix is different too. Also and mpeg/mpeg2 program stream and an mpeg/mpeg2 elementary stream are different. The mpeg's you get off kazaa are afaik mostly elementary streams. A program mpeg/mpeg2 stream can be imaged with vcd imager to produce a burnable .bin file for vcd/svcd , respectively.

well all that info is nice to know, but I know DVD is the same as mpeg2, and what's the difference? well I really didn't ask, lol.
