Ok, I tried getting Donnie Darko.avi to .mpg format using TMPGEnc-2.521.58.169, but when I converted it, I have no sound in the .mpg version. Is there something I can do to get the audio out?

get virtual dub here (http://www.virtualdub.org) and then open up the video wit it...

Under video tab, at the bottom select direct stream copy...

under audio tab select full processeing..

then under file, hit save wave file...then when u convert wit tmpeg, select that wave file as audio

Yes, but I'm confused. The file that has no sound is the .mpg file, because I converted the avi with Tmpgenc, and it made the .mpg file. So I don't understand the "then when u convert wit tmpeg, select that wave file as audio", because I've already done the "converting". So do I have to do everything all over again, or is there a shorter way, insted of converting the normal .avi file how you said?

you could try demuxing the mpeg you have made and mux in the wave after you transfer it to mp2, or you could start over
your choice

Nah I still got it. I'll probably just do what TheFilePirater said and just do it all over again. Damn 2.5 hours wasted <_< .
