add some punctuation, and then if I can understand what you're asking I may try to help, or just resort to spamming again

That might just be your problem there, at least that is what I can surmise from your semi-literate post. The nx client for ubuntu 8.4 won't work since it is now 10.04. Why are you using a terminal server (X2go) btw ? Your terminal sessions are single user remote access, so I fail to see how complicating matters with a third party terminal server, helps matters.

Proof that in amongst all the 'usual' posts on FST, a few gems still appear from time to time:glag:

Hey Myke, if u wanna use RDP session, u can try this
xrdp - Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) server

I usually install on my debian and ubuntu servers, works fine!

thanks for the info jotarech i installed xrdp useing putty and now i am able to use windows remote desktop to logon to the server but the bad thing is that am getting this error here when trying to update and also i cant install any programs anyone know why i am getting this error and how can it be fix i think its becaues of runing Ubuntu over xrdp using sesman-xvnc and it looks like some functions don't correctly (like this one) over the remote interface

ubuntu desktop 10.04 and am getting this error here (failed to run/usr/sbin/synaptic '--hide-main-window'--non-interactive'' '--parent-windoiw-id '41943082''-o' 'synaptic::closezvt=ture--progress-str' 'please wait, this can take some time.' '--finish-str' 'update is complete' '--set-selections-file' '/tmp/tmp7sztg' as user root. unable to copy the users xauthorization file)

Edit : got this working already all i had to do was make an empty ~/.Xauthority file in home

now the problem that i am haveing is that the xrdp session has me logon as a user and not admin so i cant install programs or move folders anybody know how to fix this

Edit : i got everthing working now :)
