Neptoons invites are pretty easy to find, CC are little more difficult but they have forms of recruitment for new users check their IRC for that: irc.dejatoons.net/cartoonchaos if that fails, they have several recruitment on other bt forums and some tracker's Power user forums like PTP, etc.

For what's assumedly a one-time thing, just use mIRC or X-Chat.

I still use Chatzilla (Firefox plugin) as my permanent solution to what I thought would be a quick temporary thing.

Nice Firefox plugin, that. Another decent IRC client is leafChat (http://www.leafdigital.com/software/leafchat/) - and it, too, is entirely free to use.

you can try specialist sites such as neptoons and CC as people discussed however as long as its not really obscure specialist tv trackers such as BTN also have a wide number of old school cartoons and pretty well seeded.
