View Full Version : Someone Want To Host My Avatar?

Hi all,
As you can see I'm new to this forum.I'm not a total noob when it comes to this but i'm having some problems uploading my avatar.When I took it from the site to my computer I can only save it as a bitmap.And since it's supposed to be a .gif and is not accepted to be uploaded as a bitmap I can't find a decent site to host it.(they don't accept bitmaps <_< ).So if there's anybody kind enough to help me out here....Thnx! ;)

it's an animated .gif so that's another reason I don't want to upload it as a bitmap

it only saves in bitmap thats werid mabe try to get a converter from like downloads.com

been there.
but looks like i lost the animation in my .gif <_<
And that thing about me only being able to download pictures of any kind as a bitmap only is strange indeed.But I'll move myself with that problem to another forum on this board :P

i allready managed uplaoding it.The 'problem' is that it's uploaded as a bitmap since "My Pictures" on my comp only saves the thing as a freakin' bitmap and it's supposed to be an animted .gif don't know why it only saves the thing as a bitmap,but ive got this problem for a while now.But I don't think this is the proper section of the forum to go further in to it.I'll figure it out somehow.But thnx anyway.

should work....bugger, arse, dammit, i dunno what's wrong, i downloaded it myself (as a gif) and previewed off the hard drive (the head spins, not to interesting mind)

hosted and posted ^ it doesn't work, i'm pissed now

just incase - when you 'save as' have you tried to click on the 'save as type' combo box at the bottom of the save dialog?
yes,i've tried that.But I don't get any other option than bitmap.
Don't ask me why 'cause i don't know.It just happened one day.

you'll find it amongst the other avatars.(just click it and you'll see what it's supposed to do)

It's not a spectacular animation I admit,but still...it's got more life to it than just the head.Well,forget it.I think i can manage without the anim.

you're probavbly missing the fact that i can only save the freakin' thing as a bmp.
And to my knowledge bmp's can't be animated. ;)

Are you running Windows? XP?

When I went to the site, I left clicked on your avatar and it came up, spinning. I right clicked on it, and chose save, it saved it to disc as "moodyface2.gif.

Now, if you copied it from the home page, instead of clicking on it first, it doesn't move.

Try right clicking on my one that's spinning, and see what it saves it as.

Or you can just go into your avatar control panel and enter this in the box ...

yep,winxp.
And the problem is not how I saved it(I clicked on it first).The problem is that "My Pictures" only saves it as a bmp.And it does this whit every kind of picture I download (jpg,gif,...)It doesn't even take over the name of the pictures I save.

Save it somewhere else, they don't have to go in my pictures.

Go and put this in you avatar control panel in my controls, do it now, it's hosted already. You don't have to have it on your comp.
