What is easiest program to get past copy protection and copy from dvd to avi all in one

If I remember correctly, AnyDVD was the best program to disable copy protections... then you can use any DVD ripping tool (there are many, just search that in Google).

isnt that what torrents are for? i know people say this tongue in cheek, download movies you legally own. etc. But really, i had a bunch of dvds that i wanted to put into my htpc, way more tidy as you can catalogue them and get imdb ratings as well.. i just downloaded them instead of trying to convert them one by one from dvd into divx

Use Anydvd for extracting the files from the DVD you plan to dump on the HDD.
Then, if the need be.. use DVD Shrink to separate the files chapter/episodewise.

Pretty easy procedure tbh.

You can give DVDFab a try, my brother likes it but I haven't used it myself.
