What's with the audio track in the movie "In Time" (2011)?

I'm wondering if the constant rumbling sound in the background of the movie "In Time" 2011, is artifact or supposed to be there. Has anyone else noticed the annoying noise?

Which release did you download? If it's a CAM, you have to deal with that stuff.

I'm not sure if it is cinema noise as every copy I have watched has the noise. If the background rumbling noise is intended then the movie maker has rocks in his head. Maybe there is another explanation?
