Hi. My skool in my opinion has beefed up security. we cant download files with extensions like .exe, mp3 etc i rekon the only ones are doc, xsl, ppt and pdf. is there a way to bypass this firewall (they use Smooth Guardian). us student users have tons of restriction like:
cant access internet options
cant access comand promp, cmd.exe cmd32.exe
cant right click on desktop....you know how these network admins f everything up for the foundation users.

well is there a way to bypass all of this so i can download exe files etc. ??
replies would be helpful! :)

Do the computers belong to the school?

My school disabled right clicking, and disabled all downloading, the internet use to be disabled, until they got some virus's and never turned it back off.

My school locks it all off with foolproof. But I know the admin password . I have the password that unlocks it in all the computers in my school.

Change the <NETWRK NAME> by your school network's name.

Copy this into a file and save it as a .reg file - run the file, and it will- instantly unlock machine. The keys were made for another network for other processes. But adding your own will gain you access to everything.

ps: dont get busted!!

well there is really no need to perform suck radical surgery on the computer's registry.

I just find out what the mac address on the computer i wanna use, emulate it on my laptop, unplug rj45 cable off the school computer, plug into my laptop, enjoy free internet

@james_bond_rulez, that is definetly the way to go if you have laptop. No need to play with your registry if you are not sure of ;)

If you don't only then you can use those settings on any computer ;) Obviously not on your own laptop :D

@Dapadipz, It should be really easy to find your school network name. If you could get to dos then type "ipconfig -all" that should give all info. If you cannot even get to dos then...go to my computer and check the properties of the drives eg: c:\, d,g,f whatever there are and check through that.

or just ask any help desk guy in your school

Update: When you login to the system, it should also give there under which domain you are signing in.

the kids in my school got the admin password. maybe they used a boot up disk. haha. anyway, we dont have that many restrictions at our school. only some websites are "access denied" but my friends told me an anonymous proxy i can use to get around it. even without the proxy, we can use kazaa and play games.

we have fortress at our school and I used to know the code, but they changed it.
those librarians are such biddies.
Anyway... I looked and looked and I found a couple programs that should work, but they didn't, i think it's cuz we have the newest build (500..something)

I found some page on instructions for hacking fortress, but since I have no clue about such things.. I'm in a bind.
does anyone happen to know of a way to get around the security for Fortress, or um, perhaps a newer program for the build 500-forgottherestofthe#

Is hacking things a forbidden discussion on here?
That's sort of ironic I suppose..

Admins do that for a reason. I respect the fact that the boxes at my school are limited access only. If you have a problem with that then just use your own pc (laptop) like me.

How would you like it if you lost a 60 thousand dollar a year job because some "student" messed up some or all the computers on your network because of a loophole or misconfiguration in the group policy.

They do it to cover their ass, not yours.

A word of advice.

Use the computers at school for what they are suppose to be used for, or else you may screw it up for everyone else who uses them for a good educational purpose.

I know it sounds cheezy but I go to school to learn. When I was a kid I went to school to wreak havoc and play

on my schools computers i cannot:

hit the start butten
open the cd drive!!!
use a floppy disk
i dont think i can even get into my computer <_<

Well you don't have to hack. I'm sure maybe after a while i can just get the password from someone. I was only asking if someone knew how to get around fortress, hacking was one of the options.

anyway, and i'm not there to screw it up, or DL kazaa and stuff like that.
I do that at home.
What I want to do is just be able to write to the hard drive so taht I can install the little microsoft plugin for remote desktop.
then i CAN use my computer, whilst at school.

that's all

I.am
11-19-2003, 06:37 PM
You wont be able to do that ;) and thats why its turned off on the machine. There are many security holes in remote desktop and thats why the install permissions are not there.

In a way shn, is right. Although sounds too "mom" types  but in one way is right. The whole point of taking away the permissions is to secure the network so that no stupid mishaps are done which will cost a lot.
The tip i mentioned is only for people who know a lot whats going on there and what are the consequences.

Anyhow, who can stop you from using it
A lot said.

I have a ninaa webserver in my school. I need a password to even get connection to anything from the net (Streaming file, Internet), each password you input, gives you certain access to different websites. If I had a proxy, would it work?
