Hey guys,

First post here,

hoping someone could help me out with a quick question.

I am trying to download programs from newsgroups, I find the program i want, in the description it says it should be a .rar, in my download client is says .rar. However after I download it, and I find it in finder, the file that is there is a .exe. I have no idea what to do with this. I have tried file juicer on it - doesn't work. If the program is for a mac, than why is it in the form of .exe a windows extension?

thanks for any help!

Maybe it's just spam. They often upload a bunch of fake stuff with some nasty EXE files.

You found them by searching binsearch or something?

My gut feeling says you're lucky you can't run that EXE on Mac.

There should really be more focus on developing viruses for Mac, diverted away from Windows. Like the DmgPkgWorm or something.
