"FileServe can only be used to download and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally." Getting this message for all files I try to download.

there's plenty of other services still running :) but you never know they may back off soon

Filesonic and Fileserve were among the most widely-used ones because of their generous referral programs. So by disallowing access to their files they've left a large hole on DDL forums.

This is pretty messed up, but not to worry - there are always alternatives.

And you were just telling someone else about how easy DDL is, ironic huh?

Netload.in, Depositfiles, Megashares and Oron are still up and running their affiliate programs.

Everyone has access to torrents. There's public trackers.

heiska: Depositfiles's speed isn't that great (~60kB/s), and waiting times on Netload and Oron are ridiculous for free users. At least that's my experience.

I think rapidshare still works

I just got a refund from FileServe for buying 6 months with them. Surprised me since I thought the money would be gone for good.

they seem to have frozen account activity.

I have some personal videos there and I can't delete them before I leave.

Any new uploads no longer show up on the File Manager.

It seems either the FBI forced them to hold all the accounts for inspection and prosecution or they are just cutting their losses.

Can anyone delete or upload their files successfully?

Everyone has access to torrents. There's public trackers.

Except me. What the hell do I do.

Well, I guess I'm just lucky I was invited to a private FTP.

You're basically phucked ... it's just another form of filesharing that will cease to exist if all those services will give up.
Makes boards like warez-BB and others lose their value completely. A huge blow to the DDL-community imo.

Warez-bb and x264-bb are doomed

I don't know if doomed, but as Disme correctly stated, recent news are a very hard blow to the DDL scene.

Well, time to make do with the gigs of stuff I have already downloaded, in the meantime. :idunno:

I was also offline for a long time and had some catching up to do. I suggest just being patient as things in the file hosting scene are changing almost daily ... maybe even take another month off until things settle down and stabilize. :)

I posted some thoughts & predictions here:

Fileserve seems to be working again, but they've deleted a lot of links?

Not sure, but I did notice that they were back up again, or at least accessible.

Well, I wanted to resume a file I had stopped halfway through before they closed. It was gone. I found like a dozen mirrors, they were all gone. I tried to find a fresh link of anything else, and it was already deleted. I tried another new link and that worked.
