Several cases are known now where people got cease and desist letters for downloading music from SCC. So far it seems to be only one German law firm that collects IPs on SCC and uses them for their pay or else schemes. The amount of dispute is 1200€ per album. It's a shame, but if you're German I'd stop downloading (music) from SCC immediately as long as your IP is involved.

There used to be a time when these fuckers logged IPs only on public trackers. Those days seem to be over. I hope this shit doesn't start on What.

w0000000rd?! what the! where did you get this info from indeed and can't they find out who does this and bann those people from the site?!

DigiProtect is the name of the firm. I found some posts on forums via google of people saying they received letters. Luckily I am not from Germany but this is really bad news.

Apologies for going off-topic but just can't refrain from appearing in the thread that marks the only good deed Polarbear has managed to pull off.

Who´s threating you? Your ISP? In 2003 i used to receive letters from my ISP, threating me to stop download "PARAMOUNT PICTURES" movies. In that time i used eMule and "PARAMOUNT PICTURES" traced IPS and complained to ISPs. I always ignored these warnings... Is that your case?

This stuff was only a matter of time. A site as "private" as SCC is only as secure as the protocol used to transfer bits, which is about as insecure as it could possibly get. A simple http request to the tracker and you're pretty much fucked in germany (http://torrentfreak.com/retired-computerless-woman-fined-for-pirating-hooligan-movie-111222/)
