Par2 noob question

I downloaded a tv show and when I opened the file there was a Par2 files that 25kb in size. For some wierd reason the file wanted to be opened with adobe but it did not work with that. I downloaded Quickpar and opened the Par2 file with it. When it was done it showed that one data file was complete but 45 of the remaining files were missing I am not sure how to work this at all and would love some advice.
