The me that existed between 2006 and 2009 would have considered it too great a compromise.
It was a means to an end and I still feel a bit uncomfortable about it. It had troubled me that the good people here might not call me a cunt any more.
My fears turned out to be unfounded and, well, we've all got to grow up sometime.

You need to dry the lens out, and quickly before fungus begins to form. The best way to do this is with those packs of Silica Gel that come in packaging, you can purchase them if you don't have any lying about. The important this is that the environment needs to be dry in order to lower the condensate inside the lens. Also check for any grey spidery looking lines in the internal elements of the lens, these are fungus forming, if not you can dry out the lens yourself. The Silica Gel paks are also good to keep in your lens bag to keep the environment dry.

You've gotten some nice results. Most of my photography knowledge is in pursuit of helping my wife with her hobby of photography. I dig in occasionally and try to learn a bit, then when a holiday/chunk of disposable cash comes around, we head in that direction.

Filters and lighting effects were the last areas I dabbled in. We found some interesting, well-reviewed items on Amazon, and have played around with those a bit. Photoshop is one that everyone interested in this sort of thing should at least get their feet wet in. The ability to manipulate at such a realistic level- then print them out on professional photography paper is a kick. I enjoy creating something (which I haven't done in a long while) and try to pass it off as real. People give quite a bit of credibility to photographs (they'll believe it first, then ask questions later- if at all...) :)

I won't divulge any more of Jamal's back story, because he's a real person with feelings. What I will tell you is the thought process behind my post:

The previous two entries to the caption competition were inspirational, that's why I quoted them and also added the pic to the post. Mbm's was inspired by Mary's and because his own creation was wittier, I decided to attempt an even funnier entry in the hope that others join in. To ensure this upward progression, I spent at least ten minutes discarding and adding ideas to the line, eventually deciding on crack rather than snow as the double entendre - whereas I feel sure that the other two entrants would have taken seconds.

The hope was that it would start something bewdiful, garnering greater heights in its exponential journey toward two dimensional x/y infinity.

Yes, I am having fun, Les. I'm glad it shows.

I post my photos for others to enjoy. I feel that all art should be shared and so I am. That is all, like.

So, if you can spare a few minutes, let me know what you think of my art. I would enjoy to hear what emotions my photos evoke, if any, or if it's primarily the aesthetics/lack of in my art. . I am really good at photo editing, yet I understand that I am a n00b when it comes to the mechanics of photography, but I have a good eye for colors, composition, and what makes an interesting photo.

REALLY like this one. Been looking into macro a bit. Any special set-up you are using for the close up?

How awesome is that, since it almost looked like a stick figure man in the original.

I did not use a special macro lens or effect for the close-up. I used the macro setting on my camera. I used phoatieshop and image processing software for the color, vignette and light.

Doesn't belong to me though, someone else made it and I just put it in.

P.S. Fantastic, but now you've sullied the pure nature of this thread.

We'll leave it up to doobs to decide if he wants his thread cleaned up. I have a tendency to dirty threads as I go...

Mary'll do that to you. :P

I've got a friend who swears by a straight shot of vinegar. He's had some serious problems with it for a long time. Might be worth looking for some online info about it.

Hope it helps. My friend is usually pretty good at avoiding BS health remedies, and I will give it a shot the next time I have heartburn- which, luckily, isn't very often.

Heartburn is usually acid reflux, i.e. burping up stomach acid. Vinegar is acetic acid diluted in water (still acidic). With those two pieces of info, vinegar is the last thing I'd want to put down my esophagus. Stick with antacids.

The idea (as explained by my friend) is that your body is producing acids. Antacids neutralize what is there, but that doesn't stop your body from producing more, which requires more antacids.

I might not have it right, but it was something on those lines. :idunno:
