I've got this movie-clip recently downloaded from k-lite and now I want to move it to the bin.The problem is that every time I want to do this my comp says:"Can't delete file because it's being used by someone or another program".I have this quite often with clips I want to delete.Normally I disconnect the internet and then delete it.Usually that works. And if that doesn't work I restart my comp and then delete the file. But this is the first time it doesn't do anything :( When I play the file it's stops after a couple of minutes 'cause my player tells me it's damaged or corupted(I figure this has something to do with it)Scanned it for virusses but didn't find any. So,now I'm kinda stuck 'cause I don't know how to get rid of it.
Anybody out there feel like helping me out?
Thnx ;)

hmm...any time i had that prob disconnecting k lite aways did the trick
check that files properties (right click>properties) and see if its read only, if it is deselect read only, might help

make sure kazaa is off, some one might be uploading from you, restart ur pc too....

I actually have this happen quite often when I download from Kazaa. It's never been a virus; just that explorer will not delete it.

I have Media Player Classic installed though, and I can open it, and have it to open a file, then when the browser window opens up, I can delete the file within this window.

There are many other ways to delete the files, using an alternative File Manager, or using Dos, or even, I seen posted here many times a program that will tell you what programs are attached to the file. (Just search the forums for that)

However, I've found just deleting it through Media Player Classic is the easiest way to get rid of those.

I know having k-lite connected could be one of the reasons but that's not it.
I even tried deleting it without being connected to the internet whatsoever.

@FKDUP74 checked properties and read only isn't marked.

wasnt too sure that would do the trick, but was worth a try (i had something like this happen trying to clear my hosts file, and that was the prob, but hosts is a system file though)
whats the file extension?

if you haven't done so yet, try to delete the files through kazaa in the "my kazaa" in the tool bar.

since its your shared folder you'll be modifying, check properties on that too
make sure you close whatever media player you got running that may be accessing the file, or try to delete it with your media player like bob_the_alien suggested

Tried deleting it again and it finally decided to move it's ass to my bin right after posting this topic.Clicked the file once then went to file>delete and gone. <_< Think this file just wanted me to post an unnecesary topic on this board <_<
Thnx anyway

;)

edit:and now it's stuck in my bin
I'll just restart my comp and see what it does then.
Anyway,if it still stuck you'll hear from me again I guess

Thnx for the link! ;)
Added that one to my favourites B)
Looks like I got to read it carefully 'cause restarting my comp didn't help to get it out of my bin.

I've a FIX for this problem right-click here (http://www.home.no/k-lite/XP-AVIFIX.inf) and save target as. When downloaded right-click the file and choose install.
