I've searched many different times, downloaded several different items, yet not a single one will work.

I run Win xp home, 768 cable modem (so i can download many different bogus versions), and a long temper that is dwindling as I type.

Any ideas?

You need to be more specific, which "Pro Tools" ?

Sorry, I wasn't specific.

I'm not sure what the actual name is, though. What I'm looking for is a program that allows me to cut mp3's (cut pauses, extra stuff, etc.).

Maybe this will help a little better.

think pro tools was originally for mac, but they made one for win 98 and you need a special keyboard, if you just want to cut/merge and some editing, look into sound forge

thats one of the hardest programs to master, you have to take several classes over 2 semesters, my friend is learning it down in south Florida, and another at berkley music collage, so you would be better off with a simpler program

I downloaded the 98 version from eMule a while back, and it won't install on XP.
I might try it on an old 98 machine when I'm not so lazy.

BTW, it was version 5.1

You need Audacity, last time I looked it was free. Does (more or less) everything you need
