 Sneaked in finally, I agree with you about LOTR being better than the matrix, but i did not actually like the sequel to eiether film but i preferred the LOTR sequel to Reloaded, i think someone should have reminded them to put all six bullets in the revolver, the beginning was poor and failed to make me want to watch the film.

I think absolutely LOTR. I think both released part is a good movie.
Matrix one was a very good movie, but i shouldn't have seen matrix 2 and 3.

LotR all the way. Matrix could have been better if the last 2 movies were as good as the first. Return of the King is going to be awesome.

Two towers and Return of the King ARE NOT Sequels

just to made that clear... they all where developed together

and yes LotR is just damn good, and really better then the Matrix Triology (Reloaded and Revolution just did not kick the ass like M1)

Alright show of hands:
How many of you knew that LoTR was going to be what most, if not all, people were going to say in response to this question?

:raises hand:

Well it's kind of hard to judge at the moment as no-one has seen the last of the LOTR trilogy to make a fair comparison. But unless the third film really kicks ass I'm going to go for the Matrix series.

LOTR was never one of my favourite books but Peter Jackson has taken quite a few liberties with the story so far and that has spoilt it for me, plus the books were quite long-winded as is the film.

Oh yes, and Matrix had a car chase scene a must for EVERY film... :D

You have to keep in mind that LOTR was designed to be a trilogy from the ground up but The Matrix was not! Shortly after The Matrix was released in theaters and it was so popular they decided to do the trilogy. Besides that, LOTR is basically one big story/movie but The Matrix (the first movie anyway) was like a stand-alone movie where the story wraps up in the end.

Indeed The Matrix was always planned as a trillogy. the scripts were written a long time ago. You can even see it in The Matrix when neo is in white room with the agents before they show that shot it zoooooms in on the Architechs screens. it shows that neo is begin watched.

lotr are actually 3-episode series and not sequels! lol

or whatever, i think lotr still better than matrix, but there are many outstanding triologies like x-men, and mummy

lotrs. matrix would have gotten my vote when only one 1 of each were out. then lotr was slighty ahead imo after each had 2 movies out. and simply by the fact the 3rd matrix wasnt nearly as good as the 1st or 2nd ill rate lotr as #1.

Ok it was explained allready but i just wanna conclude the single answers:

LotR is a REAL TRIOLOGY and there are NO SEQUELS

Matrix got 1 SEQUEL : Cause Reloaded and Revolutions are a SPLITED SEQUEL .....
got that ?

Rock tonic would u plz explain that again i not found any connections between M1 and M2/M3

and the fact that we not yet seen part 3 of LotR is kinda of making the question too difficult to answer now: before M3 was released i was really close to say M-Triology is better...
