So sharing sites keep going down (or getting blocked). What's the word on if we'll get a good file sharing site in the near future? There are a handful of obscure filesharing sites that work, but either their speeds are low, downloads don't resume, or the downloads time out for no reason. It's almost to the point of, why bother?

the only thing of significance i know about is http://www.piratebees.com/
whether it amounts to anything... i really couldn't tell you. for what it's worth, i believe the same people who run x264-bb are behind it.

in regards to current filehosts, your best bet is to use a premium link generator.

And that, is the aim of the powers driving behind all this.

Now it's time to switch to use a private tracker.

I've been on a handful but there were some threads in a couple of their forums about people getting lawyered. Like some guy would join the private tracker, hit up a couple of torrents, collect the ips, and forward that to the legal team of whatever company wanted him to do it. I don't know if that was okay in terms of following protocol, but there were enough people writing about it that I started looking into non p2p options.

The uploaders at Warez-BB are pretty fast to find good new hosts.

I found a pretty good file hoster (billionuploads.com) from one of those spam accounts, too. No waiting times, speeds are good and they support streaming.

Obviously, though, if these new DDL sites get popular and so have decent content, they do have to then curtail their free and easy bandwidth ways.
Double edged sword kinda thing.

It's pretty much bound to happen. The same goes for their generous referral programs (just look at Wupload; that had to stop at some point). This kind of sites must use massive amounts of bandwidth, that someone has to pay for.

Interestingly, Mediafire's extremely relaxed rules for non-paying users have lasted a long time. A shame they became so unreliable after the conversion to a Dropbox-clone service.

I almost don't use torrents and still manage to get all the files I want. I must be pretty lucky... :idunno:

DDL is dead or dying and crippled. Forums with links to wherever are also being squeezed. Usenet looks like the last fallback. Not counting torrents, you'll never stop those no matter what you try.

usenet is best, but they asking for money. torrent and warez community is so great, because they are for free, and that is foundation of file sharing.

shame that ftp is not so popular

go to torrents, to many grey areas in the law there, can't really take them down successfully. not like file-share websites!
