i have just recently started using direct downloading after years of using bit torrents. i didnt know which one to join so i joined a multi hoster. after doing a bit of research i have found that some people either love it or hate it. i found it to be ok but can anyone tell me if some hosters have better speeds . ie rappidshare or rapidgator. any advice would be much appreciated

You'll find that Rapidshare goes at the pace of a narcoleptic snail if you don't have a premium account.

I don't understand how any downloader would not be better off with a multi-site aggregator rather than a single-site account, unless speed might be a factor, since it's not uncommon for files (especially rare ones) to exist on only one file-host.

i might be a totall noob but when i download a file from some files hosters. they may go at half my max speed. but when i download a different file from the same hoster it may max out my bandwith. can anyone explain why this may happen. thanks in advance

There's a variety of reasons. Differing speeds can be caused by network conditions. These services also prioritize their paying customers, as it might be logical. Some of them also relocate files which aren't frequently downloaded to less-powerful servers, as a means of optimization (for the other ones, obviously).

It could help if you told us what the specific hoster is.

Anyone with recent experience with Zevera? Are they still good?

I can't say I have used the service, but the gist from several message boards, DO NOT PART YOUR MONEY on this service.
