Are Os (windows) Automaticly Bootable?

are OS's preferlly Windows automaticly bootable or do you need bootdisks and also for Windows 98 do you need to activate it like XP? :unsure:

Yes it has to have a code number.
Yes and no a floppy bootdisk if you don't have a bootable cd rom or your bios is old and won't see the cd.

all windows cd are bootable except for XP if you download it...you must check if it is bootable....anyways....if the CD is bootable then no need for boot disk...and no u do not need to activate 98....ONLY XP and future OS will require activation
