Hi, I am not sure where to start since I never used anything like this. I am looking for basic steps to get a server running for free. Would this task be possible since I am doing this for free?

I am running Windows 7 PC. Would OpenVPN be free, or paid? If it's paid then what are some recommendations to go free? Or if it's free then what are the steps by running a secure server to keep my IP no matter what site I visit, or what I do online?

Thank you,

Before you ask it looks secure with the SSL. There was some problem with openvpn's security that needed to be patched. This problem may not have been on 7. Not sure.

Looks free to me. I am sure if you want "free" linux + openvpn sw would be the most free option.
