Hi. I am trying to use binsearch.info. Well, I haven't tried it recently yet. I have some questions? I am going to post the link below as well to the content. These are all NZB.

1.) In the yellow it says it was posted a long time ago and I would need a premium usenet provider. Would there be some way I could download without premium? My ISP does support Newsgroups, and Usenet. I believe it's a 10 gig limit a month, and I wanted to use my ISP by entering the details into the client which would be GrabIt, and use a free search to get the NZBs without premium access. I have PTD. They are PenTele Data. I believe I have it right, but it's PTD.net.

2.) There are two files listed on the below site. Assuming I can still download, do I check off both? I know they have what I want, and it's a 5CD box set.

You wouldn't get it from that particular NZB site?

You can get it from binsearch, but what he's saying is that given the size of the download, it's likely a fake one. (look at what's written in green, 706.72 KB is way too low for one album, let alone a boxset)
This one looks better: http://binsearch.info/?q=%28NoCrap%29+%5B00%2F23%5D+-+%22Grateful+Dead+-+So+Many+Roads+%281965-1995%29+%285CD+Box+Set%29+%281996%29&max=100&adv_age=1100&server=

If you're a music fan, usenet is not the best place to get music. You should try private trackers if you're ready to play that game.

I could never get into private trackers. The closest I come would be RuTracker.org. I'm not sure if that would be top of the line tracker? I thought Usenet would be good for FLAC, and APE music? I guess people are known to be wrong. I can't find a decent tracker for this that would be open registration.

Thank you for the info!

Usenet has its place for music but that one looks like MP3 not lossless.

Stan,

What free Usenet sites would you recommend for lossless that is open registration?

I'm not a huge Usenet user. Hopefully other people will suggest better ones.
The one I use is .

http://xsusenet.com/

Just 25 GB free each month but that is 70 Cd's in lossless.

Xsusenet is horrifically slow for free, for paid it isn't that good value. I'd go with Astraweb's $96 annual deal, $8 a month, which is the cheapest unlimited deal you'll find that doesn't cap or disconnect you. The first link you provided is fake. No file is that small unless its an ebook (double check).

Or the list I made there: http://filesharingtalk.com/threads/449148-What-are-alternatives-to-torrents
Web-based usenet downloaders offer part of their service for free, usegrab being the best.

Thank you. I just made a thread a lil while ago, but I'm not sure what you posted will help or not with the crackdown in July? Or in July just download execusivly from Warez forums, and DDL?

Thank you for those sites! I appreciate it very much!

IDK why some say there isn't enough music on Usenet. I have literally downloaded TB's worth of stuff in lossless format. Pretty much have found about everything I could ever want to listen to.

Anyway, if you want a better alternative to mp3, here is the The Grateful Dead discography (15 albums in flac lossless format 13.13GB). http://www.mysterbin.com/detail?c=1933453.

I would use Mysterbin too. The ability to look inside archives before you download is great.
