Hard to imagine anyone else bringing both so much machismo and likability to the role.

Yes it was shit. Really weird mashup where one of the Village People was sent to help some scientists stop some emo queer from destroying the Earth. He had a big hammer for fuck's sake, which has to be the shittest weapon of mass destruction in the world. Hey Thor, great you're here, what have you got? Saw it.Ridley Scott remains a genius with imagery but (in deference to Squeamous . No real spoilers included )
I thought it was the usual slow buildup to a characteristically violent/gory Scott peak.
Nothing like I figured it would be and kind of got the sense the writer was fishing not entirely successfully for anything other than the predictable "whoa Aliens".Repeating myself here but anything that wasn't "been there done that" seemed a little like desperate reaching than organic .
Cast was good them that got parts that didn't play like afterthoughts.A few thrills ,a lot of confusion and ultimately kinda unrewarding.
