Agreed. I rarely have to use it but have found it to be an invaluable source of otherwise impossible to find audio/video/ebook material and legitimate software.

Cabalo: Torrent sites like Demonoid generally have the added bonus of user comments verifying software as working and clean plus extra troubleshooting and workarounds for problems that may occur. I don't generally see that with filehosting, though I'm sure it does exist on some level.

Demonoid is very useful for big collections of stuff that other people have kindly compiled. I've downloaded the entire Batman comic archive from there in the past and I'm currently leeching MST3K its entirety.

Demonoid is great and easy to get your ratio up, other private sites you can be seeding for a week and upload nothing Demonoid has the users that download it quickly so easy to get the radio up! also has good DVDrs etc

I searched for "man on a ledge" for example on there.. and got poor results, like one 1080p that was 7gb or so. On other sites you'll find multiple scene releases, the full BD disc etc. And a lot of the full BDs on demonoid are external..

Or am i missing something?

Search for 'ledge' in the category 'movies' and you'll get a lot more results for the same film. Fuck knows why but it is what it is.

However, I can't see too many 1080 rips. I've never found it difficult to find what I want in HD from the oid but with movies I try to use a properly private tracker instead because of industry spies. I use Demonoid as a fall back, mainly.

I used to hang out at Demonoid all the time when I first got in sharing. The content is pretty good and there is a small but solid group of people on the fora that are very helpful.

I'm slowly coming back too torrents after been using filehosting sites and warez forums. Been member on Demonoid for just a small time but I already love it. IMO it's a much better site than TPB. I have found many old PC games without any issues and the speed is usually outstanding even for old torrents. Can't recommend it enough.

I've got an interesting little bit of info that seems to be misunderstood about Demonoid. You don't have to be a member to dl the content off the site. Membership entitles you to leave torrent comments, access to the fora, and uploading torrents but it does not affect your ability to dl torrents.
