Hi all,

Just wondering if anyones ever used a site called "FileBucks"? I seen it pop up in my newsfeed on Facebook yesterday and thought it looked kinda interesting, but just want to know if it's legit or not. They apparently pay you each time your files downloaded, something to do with a survey.. I think that you upload your files and then the downloader has to fill in a survey to get them but don't quote me because I'm not 100% sure.

Also, if it is legit, could someone give me some advice as to what the best ways are to get people to download your files as I'm pretty new to this whole filesharing game, like where would you post the links?

Thanks,
Liam.

There are a lot of site around which do the same thing as Filebucks.
Basically the only way to get a lot of people to download your stuff is to upload something a lot of people want - like a rip of a new film or some spectacular porn - and spam it on a board like this one or others where a lot of people congregate.

Mods delete it though. Plus we've now got a filter to stop that kind of thing so if you try, your post goes into a moderation queue.

Also, these companies who promise to pay out for x amount of downloads are quite within their rights to look at what you've uploaded and decide not to pay out because you've uploaded something which is copyrighted.
This is something which I understand to happen frequently.

Not using this kind of hosters at all would make a good start. It takes a simple Google search to see how much people hate them, and the frustration they generate. These "short surveys" ask you for your mobile phone number and munch large amounts of credit. If you're uploading the latest flick or TV series readily available elsewhere, no one will bother with your links.

If you want to make money from uploading someone else's work :ermm: Find a established host that pays well enough and do what manker said, except that you should post on a warez forum instead of here. And never taking anything for granted would be good advice here - just look at what happened to Filesonic, Fileserve, Wupload, etc. the last months. They had good rates and everyone was uploading there... then they sank.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the advice! Yeah I figured that to get people to download you'd probably have to have something really saught after or unqiue which off the top of my head I cant think of haha.

I did not know this before, but I know it now. You've brought a little pleasant cloud into my sky.
