It looks like in an attempt to prune 'collectors' and raise security they are disabling all accounts that do not get a password change within the next day. Just a friendly heads up, because I didn't see a thread about this in this section.

So if you don't visit the site every day, you're a collector? They could at least give you a few days.

Well it was made a week ago, but still seems short notice. The collectors part wasn't specifically mentioned in the announcement, but it's what I infer reading between the lines.

Stupid password system. It refused to let me change it to the same password. I had to change it to something else and then change it back.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't use it much, but from time to time I find something there, I can't get elsewhere e.g. TT sessions.

Logically enough :P

Cheers for the info, I'd have missed that. Wish they'd just take it on tracker activity or something, I've at least 10 torrents that have been seeding for months... just because I don't go on every few days doesn't mean I'm a 'collector', just means I've other stuff to do :ermm:

Anyway, thanks for the heads up :)

This.

I got disabled for inactivity when I had 300gb+ in seeding and showed up regularly for the TT sessions. Pity, I really liked the place.

The same applies to BCG (where I had 58 torrents with me being the only seed active) and their draconian activity rules.

I don't understand how so many staffers have suddenly decided that their websites are the center of the internet and (god forbid) people that only visit the site when they need it are collectors.

If the intention was to shame BCG, I can only hope you met with some success.I thought the whole point of file-sharing was to "share " not to be on call.

Anyway maybe I take things too seriously or maybe not seriously enough but it's fucking shite trance music and video games for Christ sake ,not as you said the center of internet by which I assume you mean porn.:)

I have nothing but respect for BCG. It's obviously a great site, or it wouldn't have bugged me so much to see my account gone. But I'm a "consumer" if anything. I don't download anything I don't intend to use. And usually that "use" lasts me quite a bit of time - especially when it comes to games, I've finished anywhere between 1000 and 1500 games. Why would I be downloading on a regular basis if I can't use what I download because I keep going back for more? I used BCG sporadically. I'd be inactive for months, then download 80 torrents at once. So I got rewarded with a boot, because someone out there believes they know how I should use my time better than I do.

And nice try to discover where my center of the internet lies. Let's just say it's content creation, in context of what you have already gleamed. It also involves Funkin's sister. But not as a producer. :)

I'm on TT rather regularly, and it's funny to see a boom of activity on the forums from people scrambling around to get their password issues resolved.

No what's funny is that you are on TT regularly.

Inactivity rules are one of the most stupidest things that only a private tracker and similar can come up with.

I guess there's a misunderstanding. All that the TT staff have said is that passwords will be automatically reset, if not changed. There is no disabling of accounts at all. If a user had not changed his password, his password would be automatically reset and all he would need to login again is to recover the pass on his email, and all will be well. I guess, it's a security measure they are taking.

The previous announcement clearly said that they will disable these accounts, which is pretty straightforward. And now it's been taken down and replaced with an announcement saying that many users have lost access to their accounts. Good on them, because alot of legit users would have been lost if they did disable those accounts permanently.

Oh, Sorry, I guess I missed the previous announcement then!
