I've always felt that the interweb had a fighting chance at escaping the control of the "powers that be." I mean it's the only medium where the users and the providers are on equal ground so to speak (at least knowledge wise).

However, cash cows are hard to stop when they charge, and the gods still don't want to share the shiny apples from the tree in the garden. So, they're going to let us have the one's that fall on the ground, and charge us to the max for anything else.

True story.
