For me it has to be X-men for the NES. I remember going to Showbiz when I was a kid and playing the four player arcade game that kicked ass. When I got the NES abomination for Christmas I remember being so disappointed because I was expecting it to be like the arcade.
I guess it was my fault for not understanding the dynamics of hardware back then and there was no way the NES could pull off the graphics and game play that the arcade offered.
I'm sure their have been others over the years but that's the one that really sticks out in my mind.

I also played Ghostbusters for the Wii. I love how glitchy and terrible it is, it actually managed to freeze my Wii and lose some data. I haven't played it since then.

Of course. Hundreds of them throughout the years. But recent ones that comes to mind are the CoD:MW games and Rage.

The one where your mom had me using my mouth to catch Titleists that she was popping out of her babymaker. She was washed and everything, I just think ping pong balls would have been easier on my teeth during my poorer receptions.

Please refrain from using the word "hate" except in association with things like social injustice and war and people starving for no real reason and bigotry and less important things like that.
Save the stronger "dislike" for important stuff like videogames and the people you come in contact with.

I hate the fact that you'd commit the social injustice of trying to restrict style of speech over lack of content. I hope your inferior country gets bombed using small starving children holding warheads to make sure they face downward.

it was one of the star wars games i had on the n64 --the game was so bad that u could literally just lay down the controller and it would win on its own---thanks lucas arts.and i never played it but the new socom i heard and read was so bad that ur grand parents could pick up the controller and be a master in 5 minutes---socom was the shit but since socom combined assault they just went doown hill and killed the whole franchise .i might also add nearly all atari games as back then there was no real way to win.

The worst game I've ever played has to be The Club. It was made up to be so much more, but in actuality it is absolutely pitiful.

This review does it so much more justice. There is just no substance to the game at all.

I tried one of them for the first time just a few weeks ago, I think it was black ops 2. The campaign practically played itself. I could just watch as my teammates killed all the baddies, all I needed to do was follow along. It was like watching a really crappy action movie.

I like how you can (after turning the xbox on and loading the game up) take a single step forward triggering a building falling down, helicopters spawning, your AI team mates completing the single player campaign for you on difficult, a touching cutscene where what are basically albino gorillas grunt at each other, a 1000000G "achievement" unlock all the while having 10 year olds with names like XxPussyslayerxX scream faggot in your ears with their high pitched boy-like voices, trying their hardest to convince you they've had sexual relations with your 65 year old mother.

It's easy to say that in this age of photorealistic graphics and ultra-complex hardware. In its time (1993), Doom was revolutionary both from a graphics and technical viewpoint, and would run smoothly on a 386.

And many people built a new PC just to run DOOM (1993)

Duke Nukem Forever, was anticipating for that game thanks to all the hype.

I had a similar experience with Dark Souls 2. The original game (Demon's Souls) on the PS3 was a piece of art. Desperately trying to port the game to Xbox, the developers made a rip off of their own product, because the original was licensed by Sony. Named Dark Souls the game indeed lacked the soul of its predecessor :whistling

I had high hopes for the second installment, was waiting for polished combat, the same dark & depressing atmosphere as in the original, an actually existing plot / storyline. Demon's Souls never had the most complex plot, but there were many small details that connected the kingdom and characters (not randomly made up nonsense like in Dark Souls), they were like pieces from a big puzzle, that once put together brings the world to life, a world without hope. It wasn't a plot where you count the pages, but one driven by emotions. And Dark Souls? A commercialized piece of you know what. Heck, they even put a death counter into the game, so they can say that their horrendously designed game is so hardcore. :ermm:

Devil May Cry on the hardest difficulty is hard. In Dark Souls 1 & 2 you just follow a pattern that always works against that particular boss and after the bossfight you fall to your death 666 times at an elevator, because of the messed up camera & controls. Bad design is so hardcore nowadays

Same with movies, they make absolutely no sense, but when they make a movie that tries to make you believe it does make sense (e.g. Inception), everyone praises the "masterpiece" for the sole reason that they find it hard to get into the philosophical heights of the movie (for it doesn't exist), thus they feel the movie is above their level in intelligence.

It's really disgusting what the media has become imo.

"Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW!" for WiiU. Got it for the girlfriend but what looked and felt like a poorly designed 80's arcade game was actually more buggy and annoying to play than imaginable. Attack animations that would delay the actual attack while you got smacked around, getting hit by an enemy would stun you while other enemy’s would be able to hit you and cause an additional stun over and over until dead, some playable characters having a jump/fly ability to get over holes/gaps while others had to the take the long way made for a fun multiplayer experience.

Can’t think of anything in that game that made either of us want to play it again..

Atari E.T. loll it<s simply a unfinished game

The other side of the coin:

For the longest time, Howard Scott Warshaw was often blamed, singlehandedly, for nearly destroying an entire industry for his creation of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which is still widely considered to be the worst video game of all time. In recent years, however, many gamers have at least admitted that Warshaw was the victim of an impossible schedule of doing the game in six weeks, and have acknowledged Warshaw for the feats he did achieve. However, Warshaw still has yet to receive recognition for his work with any awards. In the documentary Atari: Game Over he admitted to having been "overflowing with hubris" thinking that six weeks was plenty of time, not realizing he'd bitten off more than he could chew. While some gamers have come to realize that the game itself was simply scapegoated by the media past and present, many of the panelists in the film go as far to make an argument that the game wasn't all that terrible, pointing out that Steven Spielberg played the game, loved it, and approved it before release. Even when the The Angry Video Game Nerd finally reviewed it in his movie, he said it wasn't that bad and he said the Raiders of the Lost Ark game for the Atari was more cryptic than ET.

The question is a bit unfair, cos a 'game' can be made bad so very easily, but the other end of the scale takes real talent.

So I'll go another way. I date back to 'build it yourself' computers- like the MK14 (which most people have never heard of), and the UK101 (a knock of of the US Ohio Superboard). Only the later had a way to load/store programs (tape). As amazing as it may seem, to use the MK14, every time you had to re-enter the MACHINE CODE (yes, literal machine code in hex- on a membrane hex keypad). Tho the 'BIOS' was in ROM, thank god.

Anyway I liked the 'games' on the MK14 (like moon-landing - which was stats like fuel and altitude on the calculator display).

The UK101 was the first system I owned where i could BUY games (tape). I ordered a few, and they arrived while I was in London at a uni interview. Back home I tried both- for the first and last time. They were so useless, I spent more time loading them from tape than using them. And i'm not joking.

Back them a lot of games were BASIC listings (from books and magazines) you typed in yourself. Things like Star Trek. And they were all worth using a little, and some quite a lot. But those UK101 tapes- damn.

Anyway a little later a friend (whose UK101 I also built - in a small back bedroom where I spent a couple of hours as a Human extraction system with every solder fume going straight up my nostrils- and they used lead back then) bought a copy of 'space invaders' which was actually really really good. Not licensed, of course (it was the 'wild west' back then)- and he built a special 'key' for firing the laser to avoid damaging the proper keyboard.

Today a massive dev can code a game more complex that every computer game combined through all the early years of computer games, with graphics we could never have imaginged, and we all (correctly) dismiss it as trash after the first hour of use. I will recall I had more fun with that old BASIC teletype version of 'Star Trek' than with this modern failure. Advances in tech make things possible today that the earlier version of myself with that bare -board calc-display MK14 would have considered the wildest SF dream. But a bad game is still a bad game.

Depends if you are referring to luck as getting 'good' dice rolls or random, beneficial cards, etc. OR if your luck is coming from the fact that your opponent is (also) inept. Shay says its the ladder. :yup:

Here is a question for both of you?? Do you think there is a skill playing a Slot Machine:unsure:

IdolEyes787
10-07-2019, 04:37 PM
If a slot machine pays out according to the number of pulls or some other Mafia formula then you can improve your chances by observing what has been happening and playing when the odds seem to be more in your favour . If it's a totally random occurance then, no.

You can trust me because I took statistics at University and so I know absolutely nothing about this shit.

Btw someone at some of the big charity lotteries in Ontario needs to go to jail for fraud, advertising that the odds in winning are one in three or such nonsense. eg If there are 1000 tickets and 500 prizes but the tickets according to the rules are all still in play after each prize draw/win, then the odds always remain 1 in one motherfucking thousand not 1 in 2.

Similarly buying multiple tickets don't really increase your chances of winning if the number of tickets sold is large enough. 100000 sold you buy one your odds are 1 in 100000. you buy two your odds are 1 in 99999 not 1 in 50000, smuck.
Sorry to babble but kind of a pet peeve.

To be honest Idol, any casino, the odds are always against you and favorable to the house;). Saying that, i have won large on slot machines before and really i never counted how many times i pushed the button to win, i always based it on as long as i got play time, and if you are willing to feed the machine, hopefully you will get some reward... Saying that.... My wife has donated to build many suits at Rama, by playing slots, and my Mother Inlaw figures her donations built the beautiful waterfall in front:D:D..
Really even playing blackjack with 7 decks of cards the percentage of winning becomes less, but it also to me is a mind game... Lets say you are willing to spend 2 thousand bucks?? Now what would be considered a ample win for you to walk away?? Saying that I base gambling (which i am not a big one honestly!!), what are willing to loose before you walk?? I see some people play penny slots (which are not really penny slots), and if they win $40-$50 dollars they are happy, but they started off with say $100 to gamble, being myself i would not be happy with that, and more satisfied loosing the $100 to try to at least double my money. I know that looks dumb, but if i am say getting a room for free and i was going there anyways for other reasons, i look at the win or loss differently....But i have ALWAYS SAID, you don't go to a casino to make your next months rent!!!.. Play what you can afford to loose and know it is entertainment, and the basic fact, casino's are not built for people to win;)...

This i understand your point of misleading, but you are just looking at the big win and think they are basing there statistics on that?? The fine print is you can win a prize not the grand prize no??
I have won a bunch of small prizes over the years Idol (The Truth) from many charities/lotteries...But really shit that sat in the boxes they were shipped in for years and never used....
Just an inside thing for you buddy... There are 5 Lottery houses that were built and given away just behind my house, and the the houses were up for sale once the winners got possession, not one of those houses the person who won stayed, reason??.. They couldn't afford to keep it!! The property taxes alone were over 20 thousand dollars!!(They are paid for one year).. But they did become instant Millionaires once they sold it, at least that was a happy and positive thing for those families :D

To be honest Idol, any casino, the odds are always against you and favorable to the house;).

That apparently is not true at any of the Trump Casinos; otherwise I just don't understand why they went bankrupt... It's almost like you'd still need a business genius at the helm who knows what he's doing.

And we know that wasn't and still is not the case.

Anything and everything that contains game breaking bugs. Anything that updates and breaks my 80 hour old save game and forces a restart.
