I would also be a little skeptical, because their torrent list only seems to go back to 2012, and searching is broken (although that could be because they're in beta). But if this is legitimate, these are excellent news.

‘New’ Demonoid D2.vu Quickly Shutdown For Hosting Malware

During the past few hours TorrentFreak has been absolutely overwhelmed with hundreds of emails asking about the possible resurrection of the infamous Demonoid BitTorrent tracker. After tracking down the owner of the new domain but being met with silence, we have now been informed by the site’s host that at the very least the site was hosting some kind of malware. The site has now been suspended, pending full shutdown.

Hello people
We all read the same news stories: The Demonoid servers shut down and seized in the Ukraine. The Demonoid admin team detained in Mexico. The demonoid.me domain snatched and put up for sale. The Demonoid trackers back online in Hong Kong, but then disappearing. We all wanted to believe that Demonoid would be resurrected once again; though it seems clear that this time it is really gone.

Now for some good news: The heart and soul of Demonoid lives on! Through an amazing sequence of unlikely events, the data on those Ukrainian servers has made its way into the safe hands of members of our own community and has now been re-launched as d2.vu. For the foreseeable future d2.vu will remain a semi-private beta site and no new invitations to join will be issued until we are certain that the system is stable.

Demonoid may be gone, but the community lives on at d2! Welcome home.

As much as I'd love to jump right back in, I'm reserving my judgement until a few more months down the road.

As of right now, I can't even access the site. My best wishes that they succeed but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I logged in to see all my uploads are intact. I reset and changed my password. So far, so good!

they are not using demonoid tacker
the tracker they are is udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80/announce
so its not completely back
as anon said i will also wait for some time and see what will come out

i did log into the site
(safe for me as i use a different randomly generated pass everywhere i register)
it did show my account statistics and details correctly, but that's just about it
its missing the torrents

my best guess would be, some old admin of demonoid had a backup,
he just got a new domain and put this up as the resurrected demonoid

Back up but still using public trackers. It's nice having it back but it just doesn't feel the same. Needs the forums and the old tracker back . It could also use more uploaders.
