i just downloaded a movie that was 628mb in avi format. i converted it to mpg2 format to burn to disk for dvd player (not the one on puter...the one for my tv) but now the file is 1.44gb and wont fit on my disk....lol

are there disks made for files this size (i haven't found any that can hold more than 700mb) , and if not do i have any other options other than splitting it up on 2 disks?

thanks for any tips....

They're called DVDs

No, seriously, you'll never get a full length movie down to 700 MB using mpeg2, you'll have to encode in mpeg1, but you lose quality(still watchable, though).

Otherwise, you'll just have to spilt the file and burn it on 2 or more cds, as you've already discovered.

Is there a way to start one svcd so that the remaining file left after the media is full could automaticly resume with the 2nd disk?

Or do you have to split it always?

The biggest cd's i know are 900mb but you do need to check if your burner and burn software can handle those.
